If this road were paved in gold,
I would slip and slide, unfolding
steps of mine, wasting time
trying to grip upon insanity I keep on finding
every day, what am I to say?
If the sky was draped in black,
my heart would fall onto the earth
bloody tracks trail away from the peace
I thought would live inside of me
how could I have been been so wrong?
If I lived my life the way I wished,
living a kitty's carelessness,
wandering the world without a care
If the world was not so cold,
the stories could be told
of a time not long ago
where love and peace reigned supreme
or was it someone's evil scheme?
If this is all there is
troubled words, fearful kisses
left behind just for me,
then now I finally see:
golden roads are just a lie
living darkness is the sky
all the wishes in the world will never change
the makeshift reality of this stage.
